The Droplet Mobile App (as of 10/28/21) uses a combination of local storage on your phone and Firebase cloud services to store data that you input. It also uses Google Analytics to track events such as how often you use the app and the features within it, but this data is not connected to your identity.
We will also be able able to view some aggregate statistics based on your use of the app that will be made available to use via Apple and Google's app stores. This data will also be anonymized and will only include broad information about your usage, and won't include anything you write in the app.
When you use the "Share" feature of the Droplet Mobile App, your Droplet becomes available to be read / listened to by anyone who has the share link. These links are hard to guess so while technically anyone on the internet could access it, only people who actually have the link are likely to be able to.
Even if you don't "Share" the audio files that you record with Droplet and their transcriptions are stored in our servers. Members of the Droplet team could technically access them, though we never do, it's possible. Or if the security of the Google Firebase service or our account were compromised, that could also expose your data.
When you sign up for the Droplet beta program we will collect your email address, which we will use to contact you about Droplet updates and beta program feedback requests. We will not share your email with any third party. You can request to be removed from the list at any time.
